SPOILER ALERT: This is a recap of the episode, so if
you haven’t watched it and don’t want to know what happens, exit now…
This week’s episode opens continuing with Eric’s glamoured
conversation with Willa Burrell.
She says she can tell him about all the experiments going on at “the
camp”. Her father’s guards come
through the door, but she and Eric are gone with the breeze blowing through an
open window. He takes Willa back
to Fangtasia. Pam and Tara are
there, but Pam tells him that Nora went out somewhere. He tells them to pack up anything they
feel nostalgic about, because they need to run like hell. Pam comes out with a small box of what
is left after Burrell’s men came to the bar. I really hope she grabbed the framed Village Voice with
George W. Bush biting the Statue of Liberty, because I really like that piece
for some reason. Willa tells Eric
he doesn’t need to glamour her and says they are studying vampires and looking
at all of their strengths and weaknesses to use against them. As they leave Pam gets a little misty
eyed, but Eric tells her it’s just a bar.
She says she knows he doesn’t believe that. Pam and Tara vote to kill Willa, but Eric points out that
she’s the only thing they have to bargain with. He proclaims, “The world is changing Pam and we have to
change with it”. They show up at
Ginger’s, who is of course is some skin revealing outfit with fresh bite
marks. She only sees Eric and
thinks he is there for her company.
She is upset when Tara, Pam and Willa come in and she realizes they will
not be having sex. He tells her
one day, but not today. He wants
to use her convenient two-person coffin for the day while Pam and Tara go to
ground. He doesn’t trust Pam not
to kill Willa. Tara is not excited
about Eric getting the coffin, but he tells her to deal with it. Eric isn’t getting much dead time with
Willa in the coffin staring at him.
She tells him that her mother had an affair with a vampire and left her
father for him. She says she likes
vampires. She notices Eric has the
bleeds and goes to lick a drop of his blood, but he stops her. (Thank you Eric, you are not that
stupid, because of course his blood would give her superstrength!) Ginger interrupts Eric’s slumber to
tell him his cell is ringing. He
answers to find Governor Burrell on the phone. Willa warns him that her father will be tracing the call,
but Eric says his phone is untraceable.
Burrell wants to speak to his daughter and Eric refuses him. He taunts Burrell by telling him he is
trying to decide the best way to kill Willa. The governor’s men are able to trace Eric’s phone, but he
hears them say “gotcha” in the background and turns to get a head start out the
back door. The only problem is
that Tara and Willa are missing.
Eric glamours Ginger and tells her to stall as long as she can.
Sookie, Niall, and Jason are still holed up at
Sookie’s. Jason is being affected
by something and having horrible headaches. He finds some pills Lafayette stashed in the kitchen. Niall senses Warlow outside and goes to
find him. Jason goes running out
as well and Sookie follows, but Warlow gets away. Once they are safely back inside Niall asks Sookie why she
isn’t afraid. She tells him she
has been in danger for as long as she can remember so she has to pick what she
is most afraid of. The next day
Niall visits “fairy Moulin Rouge”.
There has been a massacre and only one male fairy (I don’t think it was
Claude, but I couldn’t be sure) is there dying. He shows Niall what happened and then begs for a mercy
killing. The fairies somehow
didn’t realize that 1) Warlow is a vampire, and 2) how he got inside the portal. (Thank God that stupid fairy club is
gone, because I just wasn’t feeling it.
Though it was a step up from the hippie fairies of season 3.) Jason doesn’t understand why Niall is
outside hunting vampires in the daytime.
Sookie is worried about him because he looks really sick. He confides in Sookie about the visions
of their parents. He realizes it
wasn’t really his parents and that he was obsessed and crazy, but also says his
parents were racist. Sookie tells
him they should love their parents in spite of their faults. She tells him that their mother was
scared of Sookie and that she never told him before because she didn’t want him
to feel guilty or ashamed. Ben
shows up at the fairy portal just as Niall is leaving. Apparently he got lost and it took him
two days to get there. (Hmm, a
little suspicious to me.) Niall
tells him the portal was destroyed by a vampire and Ben says he was attacked by
a vamp. (Just saying, awfully
coincidental.) Ben mentions the
name Warlow and then bows realizing who Niall is. Ben tells him he met Sookie and will help Niall defend
her. She is somehow the future of
fairy-kind. Niall brings Ben to
Sookie’s house and tells them the fairies have been killed. Jason is concerned about Hadley, but
Sookie reassure’s him that she left when Russell Edgington attacked. Ben gets into Sookies head and she
tells him to get out. She decides
she should burn off some stress by cleaning. He comes to help her and apologizes. They flirt. She wonders why she can feel Ben listening in when she
couldn’t feel the other fairies in her head. Just then, Warlow returns. Niall chases after someone and catches Nora who tells him
she is looking for Warlow, before running off into the night. Jason collapses.
We get a look at “the camp” and see the latest captive,
Steve Newlin. He tells them he’s
the spokesperson for the AVL, who will be looking for him, but they are not
afraid of the vampires. Probably
because they know the AVL went batshit crazy and is no more. Steve gets a surprise visit from his
(ex?) wife Sara. (So glad to see
her back!) He thinks she is there
to save him, but she informs him she is in politics now. If you want to do God’s work you have
to be in politics. He tries to
appeal to their former “love” and tells her he is scared. She says he hurt and embarrassed her
and he’s basically in for it now.
She says this camp is what they used to dream about, a government run,
Fellowship of the Sun. He tells
her he manipulated his way to being turned into a vampire, but she knows he is
full of it. A doctor comes in and
tells Steve he wants to know everything about Eric Northman.
Sam wakes up outside his trailer and finds Nicole and her
friends there. They ask if
Alcide’s entourage were werewolves and Lafayette tells them they should forget
the word werewolf and anything they saw.
Nicole tells Sam she is sorry about Luna and Emma, she didn’t realize
that Luna had died. She knows he
is going to try and get Emma back and offers to help. He tells her he’s got it under control. After she leaves, Lafayette tells Sam
she will be trouble for him. (New
love interest for Sam perhaps?) He
asks Sam what the plan is, but Sam tells him to go home. Lafayette tells Sam he “is in” on the
plan because Sam has always been good to him and gave him a chance when no one
else would.
Andy receives the government-issue gun with UV rounds as
well as the anti-glamour contact lenses.
Holly shows up at the station and asks if he will be enforcing the
vampire curfew. Vampires are
scratching at her hotel windows at night.
Andy’s little pre-teen daughters come in giggling and Holly exclaims “Oh
Goddess”. Andy tells her they age
rapidly. He still hasn’t thought
of names for them and calls them by numbers because “it seems to work”. He asks her for a ride somewhere. He takes her to Fort Bellefleur to
teach her how to shoot. He says he
and Terry always played there when they were little and felt safe there. Even though she is still upset with him
he wants to be her “Fort Bellefleur” and hopes they can be friends. She’s pretty lucky as far as potential
stepmom’s go since those girls should be grown and out of the house in 2-3
days.
I’m very torn now.
Last season I was all for Alcide being packmaster, but I’m gonna have to
say he pretty much sucks at the job and he’s only been doing in about 48
hours. A cop car is coming down
the road and Rikki runs through the woods to let Alcide know they are coming to
look for Emma. They are
investigating Marcus Bozeman’s disappearance. I guess it’s lucky the pack eats the former master so
there’s no evidence. They are
there to talk to Martha. Rikki and
Alcide give the lame excuse that Martha has emphysema, but the police
insist. Martha goes outside to
talk with the cops and Rikki forces Emma to turn into a wolf before they search
the house. I liked Rikki until she
got all crazy-eyed on poor Emma and forced her to turn. What’s up with Alcide and crazy women? She doesn’t want Emma there, but Alcide
says she’s a wolf and he’s going to take car of her (ha ha). Martha tells Rikki she must bow to
Alcide since he’s the packmaster.
There is a conveniently placed owl outside watching everything that is
transpiring, but no one seems to be worried that it’s shifter Sam. At night, Nicole and her VUS crew (Vampire
Unity Society) visit the Shreveport pack to offer their assistance. The owl is still stationed outside
watching every move. Alcide
realizes one of the guys has a camera, so the pack goes out of control and
wants to kill him. (Hell what else are you going to do on a weeknight when war
is going on? I’m sure they’re glad
to be out of that barn.) Alcide
commands them to take control, but fails miserably. Every one starts changing, leaving the VUS running in
terror. Nicole gets bit in the
process, but is saved by one of the wolves (partly white, so was that Alcide?). Since fate created a wonderful
diversion, Sam shifts and grabs Emma.
Sam and Emma are running away when they see that Nicole needs help.
Jessica asks Bill who is going to burn and he tells her
vampires. He doesn’t know when or
where, but he saw her, Eric, Pam, Tara, etc. He has to stop it.
He decides that he must be able to walk in the daytime, since in his
dream with Lilith he was in the sun.
He thinks he is invincible now.
Jess pleads with him to come inside but butt-cut, butt-headed Bill has
to try it out. And, not just
standing by some sunlight in the window, but full on walking out into the
sunlight. When the sun comes up he
lights on fire, which I have to say was pretty funny because he needs to be
knocked down a peg or two. Bill
goes out to run “errands” that night.
Jess tells him not to shut her out and to let her help. He tells her about a college professor
names Hiro Takahashi who works at the University of Louisiana. He is rumored to be the inventor of
synthetic blood. Bill tells Jess
to wear something inappropriate because Hiro is a dirty old man. She walks into a lecture he is giving
and stays after for some extra-credit.
She asks him for tutoring in organic chemistry. Meanwhile, Bill shows up at Sookie’s
house. At first, she will only
talk to him through the door. He
says if she doesn’t help him Eric and the other vamps will die. She hesitates to invite him in, but
Billith needs no invitation. He
walks in without any repercussions.
Jason goes after him, but Bill telekinetically pins him to the
wall. Bill wants Sookie’s blood so
he can have the scientist professor synthesize it. She proclaims, “You’re not god Bill, you’re just an asshole”
and tells him to leave. He vows
that she is dead to him and she says she’s fine with that. (Hmm, what happens when you incur the
wrath of Billith?) Sheriff
Bellefleur catches Bill walking across the cemetery after curfew. He says he’s sorry seeing how Bill is
family and tells him he doesn’t believe all the nonsense going on, but it is
his job. Bill notices a stuffed
animal purse in the back of Andy’s car and smells fairy on it and Andy tells
him about his rapidly growing fairy daughters. Uh oh, end credits.
Hopefully Bill just needs a sample and doesn’t kill all the
little fairy pop-tartlets. Until
next week…
