Ep 6.2 "The Sun"

-->
SPOILER ALERT:  This is a recap of the episode, so if you haven’t watched it and don’t want to know what happens, exit now…

It’s night.  A portal appears on the bridge through Bon Temp and Warlow comes through.  The letters on the fairy contract in Sookie’s house are lighting up and Warlow’s fangs pop out.

Niall stops the car with Jason inside from hitting the trees.  Jason gets out and pull his gun telling him to “prepare to meet your fucking maker”.  The man replies, “I’m your fucking fairy grandfather”, Niall.  He says he has been watching Jason his whole life and Jason gives him a pop quiz.  He admits to testing Jason and says he isn’t too impressed with him.  He takes Jason’s gun from him and tells Jason he needs to shape up.

At Fangtasia, Tara tests the SWAT members and ends up getting shot and flying across the room.  She is burning inside and is not healing.  Eric and Nora arrive.  Eric tries to pull the bullet out with his fingers, but he gets burned.  He breaks off a piece of glass and pries it out of her stomach with that.  It’s a silver bullet that emits a UV light.  He asks Nora where the humans could’ve gotten them.  She says General Cavanaugh warned the vampire Authority they had weapons.  Pam is scared because Tara was “baking like a chicken on a god damn rotisserie”.  Eric declares if the humans want a war, he will give it to them.  He tells Nora to read the vampire bible again to see if she comes across anything new and he leaves for an unknown mission.  Nora reads a passage “the people lead Lilith to the sun” and when the sun and moon meet it will be their salvation.  She says it was misconstrued.  Pam is there and Nora tells her the reason Eric held back who Nora was.  He wanted to protect Pam, but Nora knew who Pam was and said Eric always spoke highly of her and was very proud of her.

At chez Compton, Bill is seeing visions of vampires getting killed.  Lilith summons him and he goes into a catatonic state.  She tells him the war is beginning, that things have been set in motion.  She also tells him a tyrant is coming and this is the beginning of the end.  Jessica is manically trying to get Bill to move or show any signs that he is there.  The doorbell rings with a woman from a blood donor service, complete with bite marks already on her cleavage.  Jessica brings her into Bill who shows no hint of awareness.  The woman goes to leave and is suddenly pulled back and contorted in many different and painful ways until she is in front of Bill.  Suddenly her blood comes out in a perfect stream from her mouth and into Bill’s until she is dry.  When Jessica gets back from burying the body Bill is still non-responsive.  She asks if he can feel her pain like the other vampires.  She doesn’t know if she believes in the Christian bible or the vampire bible, or if Bill is god.  She prays to him and asks him to forgive her and to bless all of their friends.  She asks Bill to come back to her.  Lillith tells him to “trust what you see” and he comes out of his silence.  A news brief comes on showing a vampire being pulled by a car full of humans.  Bill described it earlier, meaning he can see the future.  He says he see’s all the vampires locked up and burned.

Sookie wakes up by a phone call from Arlene.  She is late for her shift.  As Arlene hangs up the phone, Terry notices that Patrick’s pregnant wife just walked in.  When Terry comes to speak to her she cries and thinks Patrick has run off with another woman.  The nice guy that Terry is, he wants to let her know Patrick is dead, but Arlene jumps in and confirms the wife’s suspicions.  She sympathizes with her since she’s had cheating husbands as well and tells her to move on.  Terry looks very hurt and confused.  I’m thinking the backlash for this isn’t quite over.  After she leaves some hipsters come into the bar.  They want to order organic food and Arlene tells them they’re in Louisiana, the only organic anyone knows there is what they play hymns on at church.

Sam is on the phone with Lafayette who is at Sam’s trailer with Emma.  They are playing tea party and dress up and having a grand old time.  One of the woman hipsters approaches Sam and tells him she knows he’s a shifter.  He takes her back to his office.  She introduces herself as Nicole Wright.  She says she wants to help him come out of the closet, so to speak.  She thinks the shifters and were’s should ban together or they will get what the vampires are getting.  Sam says he wants to stay out of it.

Sookie is walking to work (?) and comes across a man moaning in some brush.  She continues on trying to stick to her drama free resolution, but she just can’t do it.  She goes to check on the man and she realizes he’s a half-fae.  He says a vampire attacked him (Warlow maybe?).  She decides to take him to her house to clean him up and bandage him.  Back at Sookie’s house she tells her new male friend that she had tried to get rid of her light one time.  He asks her why and she says it was complicated.  He decides to leave, but is headed nowhere in particular.  She tells him there is a fairy portal near and she will walk him to it.  Sookie asks his name, which is Ben.  They talk on the way to the portal.  He asks her out on a date to thank her for her help.  She says she’s not ready for a new relationship right now.  He listens in her head and hears Bill, so he asks her who that is.  She politely says she needs to get to work and points him in the direction of the fairy portal.

Andy has decided to take his little girls to the portal as well.  He calls for Morella and says he doesn’t know anything about fairy babies and he needs help.  They are growing too fast.

Jason brings Niall to Sookie’s, but she’s at Merlottes.  Niall asks to see the portal Warlow tried to come through and Jason takes him to the bathroom.  They find the portal and Niall goes through, but Jason can’t.  He comes back a few minutes later soaking wet and tells Jason it’s worse than he feared.

Eric goes to the governor’s mansion and impersonates a man from fish and wildlife who had an appointment to talk with Burrell about the whooping crane.  He’s dorked himself up adding glasses and pushing all his hair in front of his face.  Before he gets in the office, Burrell’s daughter asks him if she can go out for a drink with some of the other interns.  He won’t let her go because of the vamp situation.  Burrell tells Eric he didn’t read his proposal due to the vampire situation.  He tells him how some vampires went to Chuckie Cheese and turned two little kids into vampires and the kids killed their parents when they got home.  As Burrell goes on and on about how bad vampires are and how humans are going to kick their ass, Eric starts to get miffed.  He stares into Burrell’s eyes and tells the “sanctimonious sack of shit” to rescind his orders and from now on he will love vampires.  Burrell calls for security and laughs.  Humans know how vampires can glamour them so they created special contact lenses to wear.  He tells security to take Eric to “camp”.  He is surrounded by men with the UV guns, but luckily shoots off into the sky catching them off guard.

Sookie gets home and Jason introduces her to Niall.  He tells Sookie Niall is like “Bubba Fet” and Niall tells them Warlow has crossed over in the last twenty four hours.  Niall tells them that Warlow has been obsessed with their family for years.  Their family is basically fairy royalty and he’s the king, making Sookie a fairy princess.  Unfortunately Jason is not a fairy prince because he did not receive the fairy gene (awww, poor Jason).  Warlow massacred Niall’s village and both his parents when he was little.  He also killed Jason and Sookie’s parents as well.  He tells Sookie she has a secret weapon that will defeat Warlow.  Something only his family can do.  She has to channel a ball of light and make it go supernova.  It’s guaranteed to kill any vampire it hits (uh oh, foreshadowing?).  The catch:  you can only use it once and you will no longer be a fae.  She practices making her orb.

Sam gets back to his trailer.  Lafayette asks how much trouble Sam is in and right then a car pulls up outside.  Alcide, Martha, Rikki, and Danielle have come to see Sam and see how Luna is doing.  Sam tells them she is dead and Alcide says he’s sorry.  Martha wants to take Emma with them since she is a wolf.  Sam says he can’t let them take her because he made a promise to Luna.  Alcide says the government will be looking for Emma and they can keep her safe, but Sam thinks he can take better care of her.  Alcide tells Sam he’s his friend.  Sam says the last time Martha took Emma to the pack Russell Edgington stole her and used her as a pet.  Lafayette comes out and tells them to leave Sam and Emma alone.  Alcide says he wants what’s best for Emma and goes to grab her.  Sam throws a punch and Alcide hits back knocking Sam to the ground. (After all, he still has vamp blood in him.)  Lafayette jumps in, but Rikki and Danielle overpower him.  They get Emma and leave.  Nicole and her groupies are in the woods taking pictures.

And last but not least, Truman Burrell’s daughter is home.  She takes out her anti-glamour contacts and Eric comes floating up to her window.  He glamours her to invite him inside.  I guess we get more on this next week.

What did you think?  I’m still disappointed in Alcide.  Why can’t they all work together to take care of Emma?  The child just lost both of her parents.  Sam is the only other normal face she sees every day.  How are the partying were’s going to take care of a seven year old?  Will Sookie’s supernova hit the intended vampire or will she hit one of her friends giving them the true death?  And Eric using Burrell’s own daughter against him?  Classic Eric, I love it!

Bon Chance!
