Ep 6.10 "Radioactive"

SPOILER ALERT:  This is a recap of the episode, so if you haven’t watched it and don’t want to know what happens, exit now…

QUICK LOOK:  Bill regrets pushing Sookie into giving herself to Warlow, Eric reads naked on a beach chair in the snowy mountains, and Merlotte’s is now Bellefleur’s Bar and Grill.

My chin has hit the floor and all I can think is, well, I don’t even know what to think.  The season finale was touted as a blood bath that would take us down in the amount of characters and back to the roots of the show.  I’m still processing everything and almost feel I need another viewing.

After Terry’s funeral Sookie sticks around to watch the men fill the plot with dirt.  Alcide accidentally sneaks up on her.  She decides they should go for a walk.  She worries about Jason not showing up for the funeral, but Alcide tells her that Jason is a survivor.  He then tells her he sometimes wishes he were a telepath so he could hear her thoughts.  All of a sudden Alcide picks up a smell and they hear people celebrating.  They walk to Bill’s house and see the vampires basking in the sun.  They are burning their camp uniforms and decide they need to make a Target run so they can play croquet and volleyball.  Sookie tells Alcide she needs to go over there and see her friends, but she wants him to stay behind.  He is concerned, but she assures him she is a survivor too.

Sookie finds Jason and Violet kissing by a tree.  Violet is giving Jason her blood.  Sookie calls out to Jason and Violet gets territorial and freaks out.  Jason and Sookie promise they are brother and sister until finally Violet believes them.  She tells Sookie that if she is Jason’s sister, then she is her sister too and plants a big wet one right on her lips.  Pam runs up to Sookie and hugs her and Tara follows.  Tara tells Sookie what Bill did and says she will never hate him again.  Bill watches from the inside and sulks about asking Sookie to give herself to Warlow.

Sookie goes back to fairyland to check on Warlow.  He has been busy constructing a maypole for their marriage ceremony.  I’m not sure who was supposed to be officiating.  Warlow seems to have a God complex so I guess he was planning on being the official and the groom.   She appreciates what he has done and tries to talk him into dating her for a while and them really getting to know each other.  She knows the people of Bon Temps would accept him.  She says she will keep her promise, but she wants more time.  After all, they have eternity.  He back hands her and asks her “who the fuck do you think you’re talking too?”

The vamps are playing couples volleyball.  Jason and Violet against James and Jessica.  Violet can tell that Jason and Jess have a past and she decides to knock Jessica as hard as she can with the ball.  Pam is hanging out on the sidelines so Tara goes to check on her.  Of course she is upset that Eric is gone and she is worried about him.  Tara doesn’t understand why she is so upset and starts to tell her off, but Pam says she will release her if she doesn’t shut up.  Pam has decided that she has to go find Eric.  She tells Tara to take care of Willa who doesn’t even know that Eric has gone.  Tara tells her that she and Eric are “the worst fucking makers ever.”

Bill is still sulking inside.  Since he gave the vamps his blood, he no longer has his powers.  He can’t feel Lilith, he is just Bill.  Jessica comes in to check on him.  He tells her that in order to save them, Sookie had to promise to become a faepire.  At the time, Bill didn’t care, but now he is worried about Sookie.  Jessica tells him to do something about it.  He thinks it’s too late, but she reminds him that the real Bill Compton would never abandon Sookie.  Jess gets Jason (and Violet of course) and they tell him what is going on.  Bill tells him they need a fairy in order to get to the plane where Sookie is.  The only one around is Andy’s daughter Adilyn.  Jason heads to the the Bellefleurs to try and get their help.

While they take care of that, Bill takes Hido Takahashi out into the middle of the woods.  He no longer needs him.  Hido believes he is dead for sure, but Bill glamours him to forget everything and to go home to his wife and kids.  He also leaves him a bag full of cash.

Jason and Violet arrive at the Bellefleurs.  Jason wants to come in and talk and asks Andy to invite them in.  Andy doesn’t get it until Violet explains she is a vamp.   Andy freaks and tells Adilyn to get upstairs.  Jason tells Adilyn that Sookie is in trouble and needs her help.  Adilyn couldn’t save her sisters so she wants to help Sookie because she is the only other person she knows who is like her.  Andy is still hesitant, but finally concedes.  They decide to “go in heavy” and they ammo up.

Warlow is bonding Sookie to the maypole.  He is not interested in dating her and hanging around with her low life friends in Bon Temps.  He is fae royalty after all.  Sookie’s hands are free so she gets her vamp blasting light ball ready.  Warlow says she will never use it on him so she threatens to throw it and not absorb it back.  Warlow wants the fairy in her so she’ll just take that away.  He overtakes her and ties her up more.  He confesses that he wants to use her to fuck and to feed, to own her.  He smiles because he knows that it is night, and time for them to get married or whatever.

Bill meets up with Andy, Jason and Adilyn.  Warlow is feeding on Sookie.  Adilyn projects her thoughts telling Sookie they are there and will help her.  Adilyn is not sure how to use her light to get them to the other plane.  Bill explains that she may need to be in fear for her powers to work, so Violet starts to attack her.  She lights up and they switch planes.  Bill tells them he will take care of Warlow, they should just get Sookie and go.  They do as he says and he and Warlow fight.  The others go to Sookie’s house.  They tell Adilyn to stay in the hidey-hole so she will be safe.  Bill and Warlow come out of the fairy plane and Warlow flies off.  He flies to Sookie’s house and Andy sees him and shoots.  He calls out to Jason and thinks he’s killed Warlow, but he hasn’t.  Warlow gets in the house and is about to fight Jason, but Violet intervenes.  She gets hit with a ball of light.  Bill gets in the doorway, inches from were Warlow stands, but he can’t get in the house since he is no longer Billith.  So he can’t stake Warlow.  Warlow blasts him with light as well and throws Andy and Jason in the hidey-hole with Adilyn.  He seals it with his light.  Adilyn attempts to open it.

With no one to protect Sookie, Warlow goes upstairs to find her.  He gets to her bedroom and doesn’t see her.  She is in the shower trying to get her ball of light up and running.  He says she will learn to love him in the next 1-2000 years and grabs her.  Then out of thin air Niall comes out of the other fairy portal and into the bathroom.  He grabs Warlow and holds him down while Jason stakes him.  This stake takes and Warlow turns to goo, then dust and then a little flicker of light goes out.

Of course, now that Warlow is dead all of the vamps lose their ability to walk in the sun.  We pan to Eric who is sitting in the middle of snowy mountaintops reading a book without a stitch of clothing on.  The light flickers through him and he starts burning.  He is in full flames screaming when they cut from the scene.

6 months later…

The news is on talking about the plan to control Hep V.  Bill has written a book called “And God Bled”.  He is on the news promoting the book and his story.  The journalist is a little confused and doesn’t believe that Bill was a god and everything else that allegedly happened in the book.  Bill tells him he ripped off Governor Burrells head and what they were doing at the vamp camp and with the Hep V infected TruBlood.

Sookie is watching Bill on TV when a short-haired Alcide walks in, sans shirt.  They are together now!  Alcide teases Sookie about Bill and then they go upstairs to do a little something.  Over at her brother’s house, Jason is doing his damndest to pleasure Violet.  She is pleased and he thinks she’s going to have sex with him, but she says not yet.  He is frustrated because he has gone down on her 178 days in a row and she has done nothing for him.  He hasn’t even looked at other women.

The next day, Sookie and Alcide go to church.  Outside, Sam is trying to convince Andy to come to the service and the gathering they are having later that night.  Sookie and Alcide  go into the church and find Jason.  Everyone is there taking a blood test to make sure they aren’t carriers of Hep V.  They have invited the black congregation and the white congregation together for a special sermon.  Reverend Daniels sees that the blacks are on one side of the church and the white people on the other.  He tells them to get up and sit by someone they don’t know.  Alcide and Sookie sit by a little black girl named Crystal who seems a bit shy and scared.

The Reverend continues his sermon and brings up the problem of the rogue vampires attacking the humans.  Especially a lot of infected vampires with Hep V, which is why they had to take the blood test to see if they are carriers.  Then Sam the Mayor gets up and invites them to Bellefleurs Bar and Grill to get free food and booze and socialize with vampires.  Then he tells them to seriously think about finding a monogamous vampire that will feed off them and promise protection.

At the party Lettie Mae asks Tara if they can talk.  She tells Tara about her downfall after Tara’s father died.  She confesses she used to forget to feed Tara for days at a time.  She apologizes and then offers to let Tara drink from her.

Jessica decided to go to Andy’s.  He answers the door with a gun.  She offers him protection and he is appalled that she would expect them to feed her.  She says her protection comes with no strings attached.  She wishes she could give him back her other daughters, but she can’t.  He raises his gun to shoot her, but instead closes the door.

Sookie and Alcide decide to leave the party after making appearances.  Bill stops them on the way to their car.  He wants to offer Sookie protection.  Alcide says he’s got that covered, but Bill says he’s not enough.  Alcide growls and his eyes light up.  Bill calls him “bright-eyes” and tells him he knows he is right.  Then Alcide and Bill smell something.  It’s a horde of zombie looking vampires heading straight to Bellefleurs.  End credits…

First of all, Eric better not be dead.  For many reasons, but mostly because if he is dead, he deserved a better death than that.  I mean he just took down the vamp camp for gosh sakes!  I have to say I’m a bit surprised about Sam being the mayor and Merlotte’s now being Bellefleurs.  (Neither things happen in the books.)  I’ll go with it, it’s just a big change.  I’m glad we’ve got nice Bill back.  The one that stops and thinks before he acts and loves Sookie.  And Sookie and Alcide are together.  Kind of glad, but I still think she moves a little fast.  Guess I don’t blame her, though I am going to need her to stop trying to go from dressing slutty to dressing like an 80 year old woman complete with a hat. I guess we have to wait until next June to find out if Eric’s okay (I mean come on, there had to be a cave, or Pam got there.  Something.)  And also to find out what happens with the mob of vampires closing in on Bellefleurs.

Until next June, Bon Chance!

Ep. 6.9: "Life Matters"

SPOILER ALERT:  This is a recap of the episode, so if you haven’t watched it and don’t want to know what happens, exit now…

QUICK LOOK:  Terry’s friends reminisce about special times they had, Bill and Eric save the vamps at camp and Jason lets Sara Newlin get away again.

Sookie tries to help Warlow.  Bill says he needs his blood and doesn’t care that he’s near death.  Sookie protects her new man and tells Bill to leave, finally knocking him out of the portal with her ball of light after telling him to use Eric’s blood to save the vamps.  Once she feeds Warlow her blood, she tells him she needs to go to Terry’s funeral (oh, so that’s why she dressed up like that, duh!).  He asks if she will still be with him forever and she tells him she made a promise and she will keep it.  She pops into the real cemetery in a flash of light, literally in the middle of the funeral.  Luckily, no one seems to notice except Caroline Bellefleur who asks if that is the weirdo Stackhouse girl.  She sits by Maxine Fortenberry and Jane Bodehouse.  We find out Hoyt is doing well and has an ugly girlfriend.  Alcide shows up and asks if the seat next to Sookie is taken.  She thanks him, but tells him she is saving it for Jason.  Maxine and Jane almost eat Alcide up because he “smells like a real man”.

Reverend Daniels begins the ceremony by talking about how much Terry loved his family.  Andy and Sam speak and we flashback to when Terry came back from the war and was living at Fort Bellefleur.  Terry couldn’t be around people, but Andy asked Sam to come meet him and give him a job.  After a few weird exchanges and some fishing while drinking Raging Bitch, Terry’s favorite flavor of beer, they became friends and he was the new cook at Merlottes.  They catch a fish, but when Terry looks at it he decides to throw it back.  He asks Sam what happens if he messes up anything or can’t handle the job and Sam says everything will be okay.  Terry tells Sam he likes him.

Lafayette recounts the first day he met Terry at Merlottes.  He was worried about working with an ex-marine, but he and Terry bonded once Lafayette saw Terry’s eyes.  He could see Terry was a good man because he could see his soul through his eyes.  Then Lafayette teaches him how to put some style and sass into frying the French fries.  A few of the family members speak.  Then Reverend Daniels calls for anyone else who may want to say something before Arlene gets up there.  Sookie hears her thoughts and she is not ready to say goodbye to Terry yet.  So, Sookie volunteers to speak.  She tells the touching story of Terry’s first day at Merlottes.  One of the waitresses (she was so awful they refused to learn her name) was hitting on him hard.  Arlene told him jokingly to watch out for her.  He called her “red” and as she walked away Sookie could hear Terry thinking she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and he was in love with her from the first moment he saw her.  Alcide is waiting in Jason’s seat to comfort Sookie.

Arlene gets up and tells the group the reason her and Terry worked out so well was because they took turns freaking out.  One day Terry could be freaked out and Arlene would help him, then the next day she would freak out.  She talks about the night Mikey was born and how Terry soothed her nerves so she could breast feed Mikey (yuck, I didn’t need to see a real baby latch onto a real nipple, it just felt like an invasion of privacy).  Once she is finished, Reverend Daniels gets the marines ready for the 21gun salute, but Big John gets up and sings a song for Terry.

Eric arrives at the camp during the day.  He leaves a trail of body parts including two arms he is carrying so he can access rooms.  He finds Dr. Overlark and rips his groin out, promising to come back in 10 minutes to make sure he bled out.  He heads towards male gen pop and frees the vamps inside.  At first I was wondering how this would work.  I mean, where would they go, it’s daytime and they haven’t had his blood.  One young vampire isn’t leaving and Eric tells him to go.  He can’t because his maker is in one of the body drawers and he’s sick.  Eric looks and he has Hep V from drinking the TruBlood.  There is nothing he can do for him so he leaves the sick vampire there and tells his progeny his maker will die a slow and painful death.  He can stay there and watch or he can leave and be free, but it’s up to him.

Bill gets to camp and finds Dr. Overlark.  He asks if a tall blond vampire did this to him, he verifies it was Eric.  The doctor asks Bill to kill him.  Bill asks if he knows who Jessica is and if he ever treated her badly.  He admits he did and Bill crushes his face in with his foot.  Vamps have gone crazy everywhere and are torturing their captors in various ways.  Eric opens female gen pop telling them to “go forth and kill the humans”.  Eric notices Jason is lying there and has just been fed on.  He asks if he has ever healed Jason in the past and Jason says he doesn’t think so.  Eric tells him he’s in for a treat, and when he dreams about Eric, to dream about nice things.  (Aww.  Um, Eric you can come over here and heal me!)  They leave the female gen pop running by mounds of bodies.  Sara gets out from under one after Jason and Eric pass.

Eric passes some vamps torturing the shrink and tells them to leave.  He starts messing with the shrink, but the shrink says he doesn’t care about dying because he will die happy.  He had sex with Pam (actually he told Eric I fucked your progeny.)  Jason says “you did not just go there, that’s gonna cost you doc”.  Eric pulls out the shrinks lenses and glamours him to see if he’s telling he truth.  The shrink tells him the deal was sex for her release from solitary.  Eric doesn’t kill him and the shrink asks why.  He tells him he is going to save him for Pam to kill him.  Eric hears a familiar shrilling scream.  Of course it’s Ginger who is stuck in a roomful of vampires.  She sees Eric and calls him her knight in shining armor.  Bill continues his search for Eric and remembers what Sookie said about using Eric’s blood to save the vamps in the white room.

Sara is climbing up stairs to the roof of a building while reciting the 23rd Psalm.  She cranks open the door to find all the vamps inside drinking Bill’s blood.  They won’t let Steve get in to drink.  He tries to run for cover, but Eric catches him.  He says every time someone he loves dies, Steve is there and is responsible.  Bill tells Eric to let him drink the blood, but Eric refuses because Steve is a turncoat.  Fighting one last time he tells Eric he won’t be weak in the future, but Eric puts him in the sun.  Steve looks up as Sara and yells “I love you Jason Stackhouse!”.  Sara looks torn and confused and she runs as he burns and turns into vampire goo.  Ginger goes crazy screaming to the point where Jason covers his ears until she stops.  Eric finds Pam and tells her he saved the therapist for her.  She tells him he takes such good card of her.

The vamps are outside dancing in the sun.  Pam asks if they have killed everyone and Jason remembers that Sara is getting away.  He finds her trying to get to her car.  She tries to reason with Jason telling him she is doing God’s work and if he interferes, God will punish him.  He tells her Jesus told him to kill her.  He tells her Jesus said she should go fuck herself for even daring to speak to his father.  He puts a gun to her head.  She asks what will become of his soul once he’s killed her.  He says, “I don’t know, but at least I have a soul”.  He lets her drive away because he wants no more blood on his hands.

The vamps destroy the Hep V TruBlood.  We get a side scene of a TruBlood truck in Honolulu.  A vamp eats the driver before the group takes the entire load.  Bill is in the white room clinging to life and Lilith’s goo girls appear.  They tell him his time on earth is over, but he say’s he’s not going anywhere.  He tells Lilith he did everything she asked of him.  He summons Jessica to help him.  She and James try and give him their blood to heal and replenish him.  After a minute he follows them outside to join the other vampires.  They are happy that Bill is alive.  Jessica decides to move the party back to Bill’s place.

Eric goes to the room where he was held in the cage while they injected Nora with Hep V.  He goes crazy and tears everything up.  Violet finds Jason (poor guy).  Pam hears Eric and realizes he is not with the group.  She turns and sees him.  He looks at her and she says, “don’t you dare leave me”, but he flies away.

Next week is the finale.  It is rumored that neither Eric nor Bill are credited in the episode and one major character is supposed to die.  The term “gut-wreching” has been used to describe it.  A lot of people are guessing it’s Eric, but I think he just needed some time alone after Nora’s death.  I also think he may end up in Honolulu, or that is set up for next season.  Does Sookie not have any self-respect?  She gives herself over to any man that says hello to her.  I wish she could just be her own person.  What’s next for the daywalker vamps?  There blood will be valuable to all vampires…

Until next week, bon chance!

Ep 6.6 "Don't You Feel Me?"

SPOILER ALERT:  This is a recap of the episode, so if you haven’t watched it and don’t want to know what happens, exit now…  Also, they style of this blog is written scene by scene to keep the same artistic narrative as the show.

QUICK LOOK:  Faepire’s are sparkling as Ben and Sookie get to know each other, we find out why Burrell wanted to bottle the TruBlood, and one of our friends meets a tragic and sad end.

Lafayette (possessed by Sookie’s father Corbitt) is drowning Sookie to keep Ben from turning her into a monster.  Bill can feel her fear and sends Ben to rescue her.  He goes after Lafayette, but Sookie explains that he is not himself and suggests he blast him with his light to see if that will force Corbitt out.  It works and Lafayette returns.  Sookie asks if her father is still there.  He is, so Sookie tells him to “get the fuck out” of her life forever.  Corbitt stands there bewildered, so Lafayette says, “you heard her” and he finally drifts away.

At vamp camp, Eric and Pam face each other in the white room armed with silver pointed stakes.  They stare at each other for a few moments, which causes Burrell to get anxious because he’s ready for blood.  Pam asks Eric if its true that he made another vampire.  He tells her yes.  They start to hover in the air and in unison they attack the guards stationed in the vents.  Eric throws one against the two-way mirror cracking it.  He looks in the hole and sees Steve who nervously utters that Burrell and his cronies made him do it.  Sara calls him a pussy.  The doors open and more guards come in so Pam and Eric drop their weapons and are taken away.

Lafayette wraps his head around the fact that Ben is a vampire that can walk in the day.  “There goes the damn neighborhood.”  Ben is being summoned by Billith, starts the zombie walk and vomits blood.  Sookie promises to help him because he saved her life twice.  They touch hands and use their fairy light to go to her fairy cemetery.  He can no longer feel Billith’s pull.  Bill can no longer feel him so he goes to ask Jessica what happened when he summoned her, but she is not there.  He realizes she has been taken away to vamp camp.  He asks Lilith for help, but she doesn’t answer.

Jason is at the LAVTF recruitment center being interviewed.  The guy asks him what he knows about vampires and their weaknesses and Jason goes over the full list.  (Aww, this is the smartest he’s ever been at anything!  I’m kind of proud of him in an ironic sort of way.)  The man asks how many vampires he’s killed and Jason responds by asking, “this week?”  The interviewer is so impressed that he goes to talk to his boss.  As he walks away Jason calls him a “racist fuck”.

Bill comes up with a plan to meet with Lilith.  He asks Takahashi to drain him of all of his blood until he is almost reaching the true death.  Then he can infuse it back into him once he has seen Lilith.

Nicole tells Sam that Emma is in the bathroom crying because she is scared.  She’s lost her mother and her father and wonders if she will ever see her grandmother again.  Sam says she is not alone, that she has him and he made a promise to Luna, but Nicole asks him if he’s sure if he will be enough for her.

In the fairy cemetery, Ben asks Sookie to tie him up because night is coming and he doesn’t want to hurt her.  He fed before seeing her on other occasions and doesn’t trust himself not to hurt her.  He finds a statue and she ties him to it with vines from a tree and seals it with her light.  (She’s been awfully generous with that light lately.  Wasn’t she told one season that it will eventually run out?  What happened to that?)  He says they can talk and get to know one another.  He wishes that she hadn’t found out about her parents trying to kill her.  All of a sudden his fangs pop out.  (Really, he’s way old so he should have a little more self-control.)

Jackson called Alcide to meet at his hotel room.  Jenny the hooker is there eating chicken.  Jackson tells him Sam and Nicole are there, but he won’t tell him the room number.  He says he didn’t want Alcide to find out he knew and hold it against him if he didn’t tell him, but he wants him to be smart about the information.  Alcide pushes until Jackson tells him the room number.  He kicks in the door, but they are gone so he picks up their scent.  Jackson offers to go with him saying, “Sometimes what’s good for the pack isn’t good for the wolf”.  Alcide doesn’t want his help.

Andy is falling asleep in the doorway watching over his only surviving daughter.  Holly comes in and scares him.  His daughter wakes up and asks if he can give her a name.  She also wants to remember her sister so they decide to name them all and hyphenate her name.  He thinks up the name Adalyn (that’s how I’m spelling it) from a girl he went to school with.  He decides 1) is a Braelin, 2) definitely a Charlaine (ha ha, the name of the author of the books), and 3) is Danika.  So her name is now Adalyn-Braelin-Charlaine-Danika.

Lafayette is kicking back smoking a joint and bedazzling his wardrobe.  He hears a knock on the door and finds Terry.  Terry wants him to take a key to a safe deposit box he has, but Lafayette isn’t so sure he wants to take it.  He thinks Terry is acting strange even for Terry.  Terry freaks out for a minute and tells Lafayette he thinks they are the kind of friends that can give each other keys.  Lafayette says he has no key for him, but Terry says that’s fine.  He hugs Lafayette and gets teary-eyed and goes on his way.  Lafayette tries to stop him, but Terry is already gone so he calls Arlene to inform her of what happened.  Holly overhears the conversation.  Arlene thinks Terry is going to kill himself because she can feel it in her gut.  She doesn’t know what to do because her life just doesn’t work without that man.  Holly comes up with an idea to get a vampire to glamour Terry to forget all about the war and everything bad that has happened (of course she doesn’t know he killed Patrick.)

Sookie asks Ben when he was born (3532BC) and when he was turned into a vampire (3500BC).  She thinks that is a long time to wait for someone.  He tells her she is special.  She asks him how he thought the relationship would go, was he just going to show up with a blood contract and they would get married?  He promises if they make it through he will tear up the contract for her.  She claims that it won’t change anything.  He confesses he killed Lilith because he despised what she turned him into.  If Sookie will agree to be his it will all be over.  They can live wherever they want and would only need each other’s blood to survive, but she would have to become a vampire.  (At least she could walk in the sun and sun tan.)

Eric is cuffed in a cage.  Burrell comes to see him and comes in laughing.  Eric asks if he’s upset that “I turned your daughter into my daughter).  Burrell gets mad and responds by telling Eric he is going to take revenge, but he’s not going to bring him to the true death quickly.  One of the doctor’s is there and tells Eric they have figured out he is a “never give up, confident type of guy” who won’t admit defeat, so they will show it to him.  They bring Nora in tied to a gurney and inject her with a new vampire disease they have coined as “Hep V”.  She is the first vampire to be tested.  After injecting her they leave them their together.

Lilith finally appears to Bill who tells her he is tired of riddles.  She warns him not to take a tone with her.  She says he disappoints her, but he claims she was the fuck up here.  She chose the wrong fairy to turn.  She tells him the time to act is now, do not come to her again seeking answers.

Martha pulls into a gas station where Sam has Emma.  He made a deal that she could take Emma as long as she doesn’t take her back to Alcide’s pack.  She tells him it’s not her pack anymore and now it will just be her and Emma.  She thanks him for doing the right thing.  He gives Emma and pep talk and tells her goodbye.  She asks if she will ever see him again, but Sam avoids answering her.

Holly’s vampire friend arrives at Chez Bellefleur to glamour Terry into forgetting his past.  (Unfortunately we know he asked his buddy Justin to kill him, so now he won’t remember and be able to stop it.)  The vampire tells him there were no marines, no war.  He’s just a father, a stepfather and a cook.  Terry snaps out of it and looks extremely happy.  He and Arlene cuddle and watch TV.

Jason has already been shipped to vamp camp and is telling all of his new buddies how he stormed the AVL.  Sara walks in and sees him.  Jason says he only knows her from the TV and she asks to be alone to ask the new recruit a few questions before signing off on him.  She asks what the hell he is doing there.  He replies that he’s grabbing her by her “pretty Texas balls” and he will rescue Jessica.  He warns her that if she does anything to hinder him, he will tell Burrell and her new friends about her being a “whore for Christ”.  He thinks the camp is so fucked up that it must have been her idea in the first place.

Burell visits Willa in her VIP room.  She asks him to put her in the general population.  He claims she is there for her safety.  She mocks him saying she’s dead and he’s still overprotective.  He tells her to pray they can fix her and she says now he’s playing god.  She asks if the cure will be given to all of the vampires, but Burrell doesn’t answer.  She wants to be treated like the rest of her kind.  He claims the cure is not playing God, it’s science.  He tells her they are not her kind.  She says they are and says he is just as responsible for it as her maker is.  She tells him she has a friend named Tara who may be able to help her with what she’s going through so if he “cares” about her her, he needs to let her out of solitary.

Alcide finds Nicole and Sam as the gas station.  Sam tells him that he gave Emma back to Martha.  Alcide says he had no right to do that, because she is part of Alcide’s pack.  Sam asks Alcide to listen to himself and how he’s talking, they used to be friends.  He thinks Sam told Nicole where to find the pack, but Sam promises he didn’t.  Nicole tells him she won’t say anything, but Alcide says her word is worth shit.  Sam asks if Alcide is going to kill them, will he go that far?  Alcide’s temper flares and he gets wolf eyes.   (Whatever bitch, Sam can turn into ANYTHING!)  Alcide warns Sam and Nicole to never show their faces in Bon Temps or Shreveport because he won’t protect them.  Jackson shows up and tells Alcide he’s proud of him.

Takahashi infuses Bills blood back in and wakes him up.  The news comes onto the TV with a special report about Governor Burrell teaming with the TruBlood factories to get it back on shelves.  (Oh shit they’re gonna infect it with Hep V).  Bill tells Hiro he wants the last vial of Ben’s blood so he can walk in the day and he locks Takahashi in a cell.  Takahashi exclaims,  “You’re gonna lock me in her like a?” and Bill finishes “Like a human?  Yes I am.”  He gets a fairy glow and says he’s going out for a walk.  Once he’s in the sun he doesn’t burn.

Sara calls Jason into a room full of people on the pretense that it’s his first day and he may be scared and thinking this was a big mistake.  They are including him in the “copulation study”.  He asks exactly what copulating is and she responds bluntly that it’s fucking.  There is a male vampire in the room and Jason asks where the second one is since it takes two to tango.  Sara tells he guards to bring in the girl and of course its Jess.  He tries to stay cool and not react.  Jess asks what she and the other vampire are doing  there.  The other vampire (James) explains they want to watch them have sex.  James says he’s not doing anything so they burn him with UV light.  He says he’s a vampire not a rapist and they zap him again.  Jess says they’ll do it and put on a show for them, but James says she’s a beautiful person and she doesn’t deserve this.  She thinks she does.  Sara continuously hits James with the light.  As they take her away  she tells James her name is Jessica.  (New romance???)

Terry is enjoying at work at Merlotte’s even taking out the trash for Arlene.  Lafayette asks Arlene if he’s better and Arlene says they are great.  While Terry is outside we hear and gunshot.  Big John and Lafayette make it out their first and Lafayette tries to stop Arlene, but she wants to be with Terry.  She holds him and tells him to think of all the happy things they’ve had together.  She sings a lullaby to him, and he goes.  (Lafayette doesn’t keep vamp blood around for emergencies anymore?)

Burrell is in his garden reading scripture.  Bill  walks right in through the guards and bares his fangs.  The guards freak out and start shooting, but the bullets do nothing to Bill.  He makes them turn their guns to each other and kill themselves.  Burrell is about to pee in his pants.  Bill asks about the white room and says Burrell has his daughter in there.  Burrell lies at first and tells Bill a vampire kidnapped his daughter and turned her into a vampire so he has decided to be a martyr for the cause.  The extinction of all the vampires.  Bill tells him that will never happen and attacks.  Burrell says if Bill kills him another person will take his place and Bill rips his head off.   He places it by Burrell’s statue.

Eric is trying to comfort Nora by telling her to be strong.  You can see the blood in her veins darkening.  She says she ‘s not afraid because she will be able to look into Godric’s blue eyes again.  Eric promises to get her out of there.  In the woman’s gen popTara and Willa are playing Connect 4 and Willa feels sick.  Tara says Eric is summoning her.  She tells her how to glamour, but she says they have the contacts in.  Tara says rip them right out and keep moving.  The doctor checking Nora gets knocked out by the glamoured guard.  Willa goes to eat the doctor, but Eric says he needs the coat so take it off her before.  The guard unlocks the cage and cuffs for Eric.  Eric is dressed as the guard and Nora has the lab coat.  Nora is getting weaker.  Eric wants to get Pam and Willa says they need to get Pam and Jess as well.  They get inside, Eric goes into a room where they are bottling trueblood and mixing in the hepatitis V. (I love when Eric plays human, Fantastico, fuck me)

Sookie confides in Ben that the town calls her a danger whore.  She has feelings for Ben that she doesn’t want and decides maybe she should just start accepting herself.  She lets him feed from her, then she bites and feeds from him and starts taking off his pants and her clothes.  Really, this has to be a dream or (Damn she’s ripped after having those babies!)  They have glow sex.  End credits…

Okay Sookie, you’ve now slept with 3 guys in the space of a few weeks.  Not sure you’re just being accused of being a “danger whore”.  I’m so upset about Terry!

Until next week, Bon Chance!

Ep 6.7 "In the Evening"

SPOILER ALERT:  This is a recap of the episode, so if you haven’t watched it and don’t want to know what happens, exit now…  Also, the style of this blog is written scene by scene to keep the same artistic narrative as the show (with a few exceptions).

QUICK LOOK:  The Bellefleur’s try to manage their pain, as does Eric.  Billith works on saving the vampires and Jason gets more than he bargained for.

The end of the last episode was very hard for me, and not just because I had to watch Sookie and Ben have kinky fairy sex.  I read rumors that at least one main character would die this season.  It had been rumored that it would be a vampire and would be Eric.  I am relieved that Eric did not bite the dust (at least not yet), but even though they gave us clues for the last few episodes I was prepared and surprised at Terry’s passing.  A moment of silence for Terry Bellefleur, one of my favorite characters from the books and the show.  The loss feels even harder because even though he wasn’t without sin, he was pretty damn close and was genuinely a nice guy.

Still in mid-breakout, Eric is watching the bottlers put Hep-V in the TruBlood supply.  He tells Willa to get back into general population and tell Pam, Tara, and Jessica not to drink the Trublood they are handing out.  He promises to come back for them, but for now he must get Nora out of there.  One of the guards finds the dead doctor and glamored guard in Eric’s cage.  He tips off the rest of the compound, which causes a distraction that helps Jason break out of the group so he can find Jessica.  Eric and Nora hide under a delivery truck, but a guard stops it before it drives off and uses a mirror to look under the truck.  The guard catches a glimpse of Eric’s face, but before he can do anything Eric pulls him under and imitating the guards voice, tells the driver it’s okay to go.  Eric hangs on to the guard until they are safely out of the building, then drops him and holds Nora closely.

Pam has been put in solitary as a reward for helping the shrink.  Willa finds her in her room doing yoga.  Pam is appalled that Eric sent Willa to save her.  Willa asks her to keep her sarcasm down or the guards will hear and passes the message on about the contaminated TruBlood.  Pam wants to know why and Willa explains it has been contaminated with Hep-V, which is some new disease that the doctors injected Nora with.  Eric has taken her from the compound to try and save her.  Pam cautions Willa not to tell any of the other vampires other than Tara or Jessica about the blood because the guards will know something is up if all of the vamps stop drinking the rations.  Willa offers to use the lady doctor’s severed hand to get Pam out of solitary, but she tells her she is fine there for now.  Willa sneaks back in to gen pop throwing the jacket and arm in a trash receptacle before the gate closes.

Eric arrives at Bill’s house with Nora.  He begs Bill to let Nora drink his blood to see if it will heal her.  Nora protests.  She doesn’t want any of Lilith’s blood and would rather die. Eric yells at Bill to do it, but Bill says it is her dying wish and he can’t take that from her.  Eric asks Bill to leave them alone.

Sara is practicing her “elocution classes for teaching the gospel” as she arrives at the Governer’s house.  She is suspicious, noticing the absence of the guards.  She finds Truman’s severed head declaring he was a decent man whose death will not be in vain and she kisses him.  (YUCK!)  She proclaims that his death was part of God’s plan and “God is good”.  (Well, God may be Bill…)  The senator from season 1 (Lafayette’s “good friend”) arrives at Sara’s beckon call.  She wants to stay the course with Truman’s plan.  The senator reminds her that the person who will become Lieutenant Governor is a vampire sympathizer and he doesn’t see Burrell’s vision coming to light.  She reveals that her plan is to cover up the Governor’s death for a few days until they can get the contaminated TruBlood on the store shelves.  They will tell the press that the compound was attacked, but the Governor got away and is at another facility.  She knows the Sentator has “fixers” because of his sinful lifestyle and she proposes he cover in the legislature while she will be Burrell’s presence at camp and take care of all vampire issues.  The Senator is impressed with Sara, and she declares that when God’s message is clear she is a truly unstoppable woman.

Ben and Sookie are all cuddles in the sunny fairy plain.  They talk and joke.  He assumes she is accepting his proposal because she gave herself to him.  They have a joking tiff about women’s rights, but Sookie hears someone crying.  It’s Arlene, who is at the cemetery crying on Terry’s fresh grave. Sookie tells Ben she has to go comfort her friend, but promises to come back for him.  Arlene tells Sookie that Terry was shot.  (Do we not get a short funeral to say goodbye? I mean he’s been here since the beginning of the show.  It just feels wrong.)  Arlene explains how she had the vamp glamour Terry and how happy he had been the day he died.  She doesn’t know how she is going to tell her kids that Terry is dead.  Sookie reminds Arlene that she is tough and she can get through this because her children will need her to.

Sam calls Lafayette from a pay phone to see how things are going.  Lafayette tells Sam about Terry and he is speechless.  He decides he must go back to Bon Temps for Terry and his friends.  He suggests Nicole have her mother come pick her up.

Arlene returns home and asks Holly how are kids are.  Holly says they are okay, but they know something is going on.  When Arlene walks in she notices Lafayette and goes off on him.  She demands to know what else Terry told him and what is in the box.  She calls him a liar and a voodoo queer.  Andy takes her in another room to calm her down while Sookie and Lafayette go see what is stored in the box.  Lafayette jokes that “maybe this time yo ass will be kicked”.  They go to the bank and open the safe deposit box finding a life insurance policy Terry had issued three days before.  They realize he planned whatever happened to him and now they have to go share the news with the family.

At the compound, Jason gets Jessica alone.  He says he’s there to help her, but she tells him he doesn’t have to do that for her.  He says his heart is clear and he wants to do right by her.  She keeps refusing and says she belongs there so Jason wonders if she has Stockholm syndrome.  She reveals to him that she knows what is going to happen and she is okay with that.  He confesses he was in the room earlier when they were going to force her and the other vamp to have sex.  She explains that he can’t stop bad things from happening to her.  She wants him to go on being the sweet loveable man that he is.  She requests his help so she can find James and thank him face to face.

Before Nicole’s mom picks her up, she gets in the shower with Sam and they say goodbye.  She promises never to forget Sam or to tell anyone about the shifters or weres.  She also gives him her phone number in case they want to see each other again under different circumstances.

Jason brings James into a conference room where Jessica is waiting.  Jess asks Jason for some privacy.  She confides in James that until she met him she thought all vamps were monsters and wonders why he didn’t give in to the guards and have sex with her.  He doesn’t believe that becoming a vampire forfits your soul.  He tries to do what he thinks is right.  As punishment for not succumbing to their rules, the campers pulled one of his fangs.  Jess gives him a gift in return by warning him about the contaminated TruBlood.  He claims he feels like a fool because he never really believed he would live for an eternity, but now that death is so close he wishes there were things he could do before he dies.  She tells him that she really wants to make love to him.  She has never had sex with a vampire before and would like to do so with him because she likes the humanity within him and wants to feel it.  (Poor Jason, having to stand guard outside while your girl is getting it on in the conference room.)

Eric finds Bill leaving the house during the day and wonders how he can day walk.  Bill says he will have to tell Eric later, but right now he needs to find Warlow.  Eric declares he will do anything Bill asks if he will give Nora his blood.  It was the last place he wanted to go, but he was desperate.  Bill had a stake through his heart and survived.  Eric even stoops by telling Bill he believes he is divine.  Bill confides in Eric his visions of the future and asks Eric about the white room.  Bill insists he must go get Warlow, but Eric says he doesn’t care about Warlow.  (Of course, he has no idea who or what Warlow is exactly.)  Bill explains that drinking Warlow’s blood has allowed him to walk in the sun, not Lilith’s and that one way or another Eric will end up in the white room when the roof opens.  Eric agrees to help Bill with whatever he wants once he gives Nora his blood.  Bill concedes and let’s Nora drink from him.  Eric explains to Nora that he had to do something to try and save her and she says she understands.  She doesn’t feel any different after drinking Bill’s blood so Eric thinks Warlow’s blood may help.  Nora doesn’t believe it will, but Eric demands that Bill go get him.  He turns away and Bill and Nora exchange a look mentally with her saying, “Please take care of Eric” and Bill responding “I will”.  (At least that’s what I thought it was about.)

After retrieving the insurance policy from Terry’s safety deposit box, Lafayette and Sookie go back to the Bellefleur house.  Andy intercepts them telling them now is not the best time to talk with Arlene.  She is drunk.  Actually she had to be more than drunk because she was flying pretty high.  Lafayette distracts her by taking her into the kitchen and putting together an old family recipe guaranteed to help her not feel anything.  Adalyn is in the room and Sookie picks up on her fairy vibe.  They have a short telepathic fairy conversation, but Bill arrives.  Sookie responds to his walking in the daylight by saying “Holy fuck”, which is probably what I would’ve said as well.  Andy tells everyone to leave the room.  Bill gives his regrets to Arlene about Terry, but she thinks she is so wasted that she is imagining him there until she feels him with her hands.  Her response is “Fuck me”.  (So no one seems too thrilled about his vampire day-walking thing.  Does Bill intend to share this secret with all vampires, or only a select few?)  Bill expresses his sorrow for Andy’s loss and says he knows there is no greater pain in the world than losing a child.  He lost one of his children when he was human.  He sympathizes with Andy by saying he knows Andy is protective of his children, but says he is protective of Jessica.  Andy reluctantly (and without much choice) shakes Bill’s hand in a sort of truce.  In the corner, Lafayette asks Sookie how in the world Bill can walk in the daytime.  She responds that all she has time to think about today is Arlene and her kids.  Bill approaches her and asks if they can speak.  Lafayette leaves the room saying, “I’m so fucking glad I took my beta blockers today, deuces.”  Bill reveals that Tara, Pam and Jessica are being held at a vampire death camp and are in trouble.  He needs Warlow to save them and imparts on her if she doesn’t help there will be blood on both of their hands.  (He seems to be blaming her for the fairy girl’s deaths as well.)

Pam gets escorted to another therapy session.  She confesses to the doctor that she is not hungry for blood, but instead is horny.  She explains that she has a high sex drive from her time as a human prostitute.  He questions her about her sexual desires (and creepily gets enticed by them) and she bargains getting into the general population by having sex with him.  Sara corners Jason and tells him the Governer is dead and his leverage over her is gone.  She orders a guard to cut his wrist and throws him in the female vampire general population where there are plenty of hungry female vampires.  As all the women go crazy Tara comes to his rescue, but the dominant vamp that’s been watching Tara claims Jason is hers.

Alcide takes Jackson back to his camper in Jackson.  Papa Herveaux tries to talk his son into staying there with him and not rejoining the pack.  He doesn’t think the Herveaux men are cut out for pack life and one day Alcide will realize it.  When Alcide gets back to the pack in Shreveport he tells them Nicole and Sam are dead, but Rikki knows he is lying because the pack abducted Nicole and her mother.  The pack is pissed that Alcide has lied to them and he is up the creek without a paddle.

While Bill is out Eric pleads with Godric to save Nora.  Godric doesn’t answer, but Nora recalls how Eric found her so long ago when she was dying of the plague.  Eric asked Godric to make her a vampire.  We get a flashback of London in 1665 (I love Alexander Skarsgard, but he needs to work on his British accent).  Nora is a favorite mistress to the King who asks Eric to go fetch her from the depths of the sick houses and bring her back to safety.  By the time Eric finds her she has already contracted the plague.  He tells her the King tasked him with taking her back to London, but she exclaims that her death will be her own.  Eric believes she is courageous and Nora tells him he has a look of destiny about him.  He promises that his father can heal her fully and she will live forever.  Back in the present he says he promised her she would live forever, but she reminds him that she only asked to live fully and he gave her that.  He holds her as she turns into vampire goo and once she is gone he breaks down.  He looks in the doorway and sees Bill standing there and Eric doesn’t look too happy.

End credits…

So as I asked earlier, why didn’t we get some kind of funeral or dedication to Terry?  He was already in the ground so it seemed to me that it had already occurred or there wasn’t one. Arlene’s kids had no idea what was going on until she told them later.  Will Sookie hand Warlow over to Bill to save her friends?  Will she be upset when she finds out what Warlow did to Niall?  Is Eric going to retreat in darkness and blame Bill for Nora’s death?  And what will happen to poor Alcide?  He made it a few days longer than JD, but after that great speech he gave the pack last season he didn’t seem to enforce his vision on them.  I think he can handle his own, but I have a feeling Sam will show up to help.

Until next week, Bon Chance!
