SPOILER ALERT: This
is a recap of the episode, so if you haven’t watched it and don’t want to know
what happens, exit now…
QUICK LOOK:
Bill regrets pushing Sookie into giving herself to Warlow, Eric reads
naked on a beach chair in the snowy mountains, and Merlotte’s is now
Bellefleur’s Bar and Grill.
My chin has hit the floor and all I can think is, well, I
don’t even know what to think. The
season finale was touted as a blood bath that would take us down in the amount
of characters and back to the roots of the show. I’m still processing everything and almost feel I need
another viewing.
After Terry’s funeral Sookie sticks around to watch the men
fill the plot with dirt. Alcide
accidentally sneaks up on her. She
decides they should go for a walk. She worries about Jason not showing up for the funeral, but
Alcide tells her that Jason is a survivor. He then tells her he sometimes wishes he were a telepath so
he could hear her thoughts. All of
a sudden Alcide picks up a smell and they hear people celebrating. They walk to Bill’s house and see the
vampires basking in the sun. They
are burning their camp uniforms and decide they need to make a Target run so
they can play croquet and volleyball.
Sookie tells Alcide she needs to go over there and see her friends, but
she wants him to stay behind. He
is concerned, but she assures him she is a survivor too.
Sookie finds Jason and Violet kissing by a tree. Violet is giving Jason her blood. Sookie calls out to Jason and Violet
gets territorial and freaks out.
Jason and Sookie promise they are brother and sister until finally
Violet believes them. She tells
Sookie that if she is Jason’s sister, then she is her sister too and plants a
big wet one right on her lips. Pam
runs up to Sookie and hugs her and Tara follows. Tara tells Sookie what Bill did and says she will never hate
him again. Bill watches from the
inside and sulks about asking Sookie to give herself to Warlow.
Sookie goes back to fairyland to check on Warlow. He has been busy constructing a maypole
for their marriage ceremony. I’m
not sure who was supposed to be officiating. Warlow seems to have a God complex so I guess he was
planning on being the official and the groom. She appreciates what he has done and tries to talk him
into dating her for a while and them really getting to know each other. She knows the people of Bon Temps would
accept him. She says she will keep
her promise, but she wants more time.
After all, they have eternity.
He back hands her and asks her “who the fuck do you think you’re talking
too?”
The vamps are playing couples volleyball. Jason and Violet against James and
Jessica. Violet can tell that
Jason and Jess have a past and she decides to knock Jessica as hard as she can
with the ball. Pam is hanging out
on the sidelines so Tara goes to check on her. Of course she is upset that Eric is gone and she is worried
about him. Tara doesn’t understand
why she is so upset and starts to tell her off, but Pam says she will release
her if she doesn’t shut up. Pam
has decided that she has to go find Eric.
She tells Tara to take care of Willa who doesn’t even know that Eric has
gone. Tara tells her that she and
Eric are “the worst fucking makers ever.”
Bill is still sulking inside. Since he gave the vamps his blood, he no longer has his
powers. He can’t feel Lilith, he
is just Bill. Jessica comes in to
check on him. He tells her that in
order to save them, Sookie had to promise to become a faepire. At the time, Bill didn’t care, but now
he is worried about Sookie.
Jessica tells him to do something about it. He thinks it’s too late, but she reminds him that the real
Bill Compton would never abandon Sookie.
Jess gets Jason (and Violet of course) and they tell him what is going
on. Bill tells him they need a
fairy in order to get to the plane where Sookie is. The only one around is Andy’s daughter Adilyn. Jason heads to the the Bellefleurs to
try and get their help.
While they take care of that, Bill takes Hido Takahashi out
into the middle of the woods. He
no longer needs him. Hido believes
he is dead for sure, but Bill glamours him to forget everything and to go home
to his wife and kids. He also
leaves him a bag full of cash.
Jason and Violet arrive at the Bellefleurs. Jason wants to come in and talk and
asks Andy to invite them in. Andy
doesn’t get it until Violet explains she is a vamp. Andy freaks and tells Adilyn to get upstairs. Jason tells Adilyn that Sookie is in
trouble and needs her help. Adilyn
couldn’t save her sisters so she wants to help Sookie because she is the only
other person she knows who is like her.
Andy is still hesitant, but finally concedes. They decide to “go in heavy” and they ammo up.
Warlow is bonding Sookie to the maypole. He is not interested in dating her and
hanging around with her low life friends in Bon Temps. He is fae royalty after all. Sookie’s hands are free so she gets her
vamp blasting light ball ready.
Warlow says she will never use it on him so she threatens to throw it
and not absorb it back. Warlow
wants the fairy in her so she’ll just take that away. He overtakes her and ties her up more. He confesses that he wants to use her
to fuck and to feed, to own her.
He smiles because he knows that it is night, and time for them to get
married or whatever.
Bill meets up with Andy, Jason and Adilyn. Warlow is feeding on Sookie. Adilyn projects her thoughts telling
Sookie they are there and will help her.
Adilyn is not sure how to use her light to get them to the other
plane. Bill explains that she may
need to be in fear for her powers to work, so Violet starts to attack her. She lights up and they switch
planes. Bill tells them he will
take care of Warlow, they should just get Sookie and go. They do as he says and he and Warlow
fight. The others go to Sookie’s
house. They tell Adilyn to stay in
the hidey-hole so she will be safe.
Bill and Warlow come out of the fairy plane and Warlow flies off. He flies to Sookie’s house and Andy
sees him and shoots. He calls out
to Jason and thinks he’s killed Warlow, but he hasn’t. Warlow gets in the house and is about
to fight Jason, but Violet intervenes.
She gets hit with a ball of light.
Bill gets in the doorway, inches from were Warlow stands, but he can’t
get in the house since he is no longer Billith. So he can’t stake Warlow. Warlow blasts him with light as well and throws Andy and
Jason in the hidey-hole with Adilyn.
He seals it with his light.
Adilyn attempts to open it.
With no one to protect Sookie, Warlow goes upstairs to find
her. He gets to her bedroom and
doesn’t see her. She is in the
shower trying to get her ball of light up and running. He says she will learn to love him in
the next 1-2000 years and grabs her.
Then out of thin air Niall comes out of the other fairy portal and into
the bathroom. He grabs Warlow and
holds him down while Jason stakes him.
This stake takes and Warlow turns to goo, then dust and then a little
flicker of light goes out.
Of course, now that Warlow is dead all of the vamps lose
their ability to walk in the sun.
We pan to Eric who is sitting in the middle of snowy mountaintops
reading a book without a stitch of clothing on. The light flickers through him and he starts burning. He is in full flames screaming when
they cut from the scene.
6 months later…
The news is on talking about the plan to control Hep V. Bill has written a book called “And God
Bled”. He is on the news promoting
the book and his story. The
journalist is a little confused and doesn’t believe that Bill was a god and
everything else that allegedly happened in the book. Bill tells him he ripped off Governor Burrells head and what
they were doing at the vamp camp and with the Hep V infected TruBlood.
Sookie is watching Bill on TV when a short-haired Alcide
walks in, sans shirt. They are
together now! Alcide teases Sookie
about Bill and then they go upstairs to do a little something. Over at her brother’s house, Jason is doing
his damndest to pleasure Violet.
She is pleased and he thinks she’s going to have sex with him, but she
says not yet. He is frustrated
because he has gone down on her 178 days in a row and she has done nothing for
him. He hasn’t even looked at
other women.
The next day, Sookie and Alcide go to church. Outside, Sam is trying to convince Andy
to come to the service and the gathering they are having later that night. Sookie and Alcide go into the church and find Jason. Everyone is there taking a blood test
to make sure they aren’t carriers of Hep V. They have invited the black congregation and the white congregation
together for a special sermon.
Reverend Daniels sees that the blacks are on one side of the church and
the white people on the other. He
tells them to get up and sit by someone they don’t know. Alcide and Sookie sit by a little black
girl named Crystal who seems a bit shy and scared.
The Reverend continues his sermon and brings up the problem
of the rogue vampires attacking the humans. Especially a lot of infected vampires with Hep V, which is
why they had to take the blood test to see if they are carriers. Then Sam the Mayor gets up and invites
them to Bellefleurs Bar and Grill to get free food and booze and socialize with
vampires. Then he tells them to
seriously think about finding a monogamous vampire that will feed off them and
promise protection.
At the party Lettie Mae asks Tara if they can talk. She tells Tara about her downfall after
Tara’s father died. She confesses
she used to forget to feed Tara for days at a time. She apologizes and then offers to let Tara drink from her.
Jessica decided to go to Andy’s. He answers the door with a gun. She offers him protection and he is appalled that she would
expect them to feed her. She says
her protection comes with no strings attached. She wishes she could give him back her other daughters, but
she can’t. He raises his gun to
shoot her, but instead closes the door.
Sookie and Alcide decide to leave the party after making
appearances. Bill stops them on
the way to their car. He wants to
offer Sookie protection. Alcide
says he’s got that covered, but Bill says he’s not enough. Alcide growls and his eyes light
up. Bill calls him “bright-eyes”
and tells him he knows he is right.
Then Alcide and Bill smell something. It’s a horde of zombie looking vampires heading straight to
Bellefleurs. End credits…
First of all, Eric better not be dead. For many reasons, but mostly because if
he is dead, he deserved a better death than that. I mean he just took down the vamp camp for gosh sakes! I have to say I’m a bit surprised about
Sam being the mayor and Merlotte’s now being Bellefleurs. (Neither things happen in the
books.) I’ll go with it, it’s just
a big change. I’m glad we’ve got
nice Bill back. The one that stops
and thinks before he acts and loves Sookie. And Sookie and Alcide are together. Kind of glad, but I still think she
moves a little fast. Guess I don’t
blame her, though I am going to need her to stop trying to go from dressing
slutty to dressing like an 80 year old woman complete with a hat. I guess we
have to wait until next June to find out if Eric’s okay (I mean come on, there
had to be a cave, or Pam got there.
Something.) And also to
find out what happens with the mob of vampires closing in on Bellefleurs.
Until next June, Bon Chance!
